Lite Image Saver for Instagram (Chrome Extension)

Quickly download and install this lightweight extension to download any Instagram image in its original quality with 1 click. I built this extension because Instagram doesn't give me an easy way to download my images, or even take a quick screenshot of a video. With this extension, a 'Download' button will appear in every picture and video on your Instagram feeds, profiles, and independent pages. It can also take screenshots of a video the moment you hit the download button.

How to install it

Apart from Google Chrome, it works with most newer Chromium-based browsers, including Vivaldi, Opera, Edge, etc.

1. Download the extension from Gumroad (it's free).
2. Right-click on the zip file and click "Extract" or "Unzip".
3. Launch Google Chrome and in the address bar visit: chrome:extensions.
   1. Visit vivaldi:extensions if you're using Vivaldi.
   2. Visit opera:extensions if you're using Opera (tested with Opera Air, too).
4. Enable the "Developer Mode" from the top right corner.
5. Click on the "Load unpacked" button that appeared in the top left corner.
6. Locate the extension's folder, select it, and BOOM! You're done.
7. Go to Instagram and download any image by clicking the "Download" button, or take screenshots from your videos.

Privacy & Data Collection

The extension 'Downloader for Instagram' does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. All processing happens locally on your computer.

This makes it a privacy-focused extension for everyone to enjoy for free and without worrying that someone is collecting their data.

I'll continue updating the extension and making it better (especially based on user feedback - if given) as long as Instagram and Meta let us have it.
